This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Artist's Description
This began as multiple sketches of a 'Natchez' crape myrtle in my Delaware studio garden. (Sketch 1 --> Rotate panel --> Sketch 2 --> Rotate --> Sketch 3). Combined with painting in and blocking out yielding 'Natchez'. The white background and yellow lines represent the surface of a garden pool and ripples, respectively. The black lines, fanning out from the top - right-of-center, are branches reflected in the water. The red-bodies are biomorphic forms that emerged as the panel was painted.

My paintings are acrylics on wood panels. I am fascinated by organic form and color. My subjects are mostly plants, especially trees. In doing my art, I find that other organic forms, frequently suggestive of animals and people, subliminally appear in the paintings. I call this emergence of form, as others have, biomorphic art - literally “life-form” art. I love to paint. The act of painting transcends for me the subject of the painting. Bright colors, especially the three primaries - red, yellow, and blue - are integral to my art.
